  • What should I bring to my appointment?
    Please arrive 10 minutes early if it’s your first visit so we can assist with any paperwork. Bring the following: Proof of Medical Aid Identification (ID or driver’s licence) Referral letters or previous medical records, if applicable
  • I'm feeling nervous. It's my first check-up. What can I expect?
    Feeling a little anxious before your first appointment is completely normal, especially when it comes to intimate healthcare. Dr Rockson is known for her warm, approachable and reassuring manner, and she creates a safe, judgment-free space where you're treated with kindness and respect. She’ll guide you through every step of the consultation, explain procedures clearly, and answer any questions you may have. You’re welcome to bring a support person if it helps you feel more comfortable. You’re in caring, capable hands and your comfort and confidence are always a priority.
  • Should I cancel my appointment if I'm on my period?
    There’s no need to cancel your appointment if you’re on your period. You're welcome to visit at any stage of your cycle. Dr Rockson understands that timing isn’t always predictable and it won’t interfere with most consultations or assessments. Our practice is fully equipped with sanitary products, wipes, and other essentials to ensure your comfort throughout your visit. Your health comes first, and there’s no need to feel embarrassed or delay care.
  • What should I wear?
    Wear loose, comfortable clothing that can be easily removed if needed. If you're having a non-vaginal ultrasound, there’s no need to undress fully.
  • What happens during a consultation?
    Consultations usually last 20 to 40 minutes, and may include: A urine analysis A review of your medical history Physical examination Sonar (ultrasound) Blood pressure and weight check Any other relevant assessments
  • Can my partner attend?
    Yes. We encourage partner support during prenatal scans. Due to hospital protocols, your partner may be asked to wait by the main reception until we're ready to begin the scan. At that point, they’ll be invited to join you.
  • How do I pay or claim from medical aid?
    Consultation Fees: Exclude laboratory tests, which are billed separately by the lab Dr Rockson is contracted to Discovery Classic and CAMAF Other Medical Aids: A levy may apply if you're not on Discovery Classic or CAMAF Contact our office for a fee estimate Consultation fees are to be settled in full Procedure Quotes: Each quote is tailored and will reflect: The type of procedure Theatre time and hospital stay Anaesthetic fees Payments: Card facilities are available in-practice For billing queries, our team is here to help

In case of an emergency after hours, please go straight to maternity if you are 26+ weeks pregnant or the emergency centre if you are less than 26 weeks or not pregnant. The hospital will contact Dr Rockson for instructions.
